Riding Instruction

  • Learn to ride or enhance your skills with our experienced instructors
  • Dressage, Balanced Seat equitation, Eventing, Jumping, all levels and
    all ages.
  • Evaluation Lesson $40, (rider health form, PDF 41 kb) and (Release form,
    PDF 87 kb) Please bring both forms completed to your first lesson.

Costs

  • 6-week beginner package $240 ($60 savings)
    A private ½ hour beginner lesson program to teach the basics of riding.
    After the six weeks the student will be placed in the regular lesson program
    in an appropriate level. Prior to enrolling in this package the student must
    take an Evaluation lesson and have staff approval.

     
  • $40/hr for group lessons - groups
    are based on similar abilities and experience. (3 or more students)
  • $45/hr semi-private (2 students)
  • $50/1/2 hr private lessons
  • $65/hr private lessons
  • Please plan to arrive 15 to 30 minutes prior to your lesson to groom and
    tack your horse.
    In addition please allow 30 minutes after the lesson to put away tack,
    clean up, groom horse and return horse to their designated areas.

Scheduling Lessons

  • New students please call the barn at 410-489-5883 or Katie at 443-253-3845 to schedule an evaluation lesson. Once an instructor is assigned, their
    contact information is available at the barn. Any scheduling changes should
    be made directly with the instructor. A minimum of one lesson per week is required. The clients are responsible for paying fees monthly by the first
    Friday of every month. With advance arrangements one make-up lesson
    per month is allowed at the instructors’ discretion.

Instructors

  • Dawn Delgado - fifteen years of combined training and instruction experience, elementary through preliminary, dressage - beginner through second level, as well as horse management instruction.
  • Katie Phalen - presents a correct foundation for effective, enjoyable horsemanship as well as basic dressage, jumping, body mechanics, and
    equine behavior
  • Barbara Riffey - Instructor - Hunt Seat Equitation, all levels, all ages
    B.A. Horsemanship/Teaching, A.R.I.A. Certified.
  • Katie Westwick - Dressage level 1, x-country novice, specializing in
    Centered Riding. NCEL coach, Pony Club D Coordinator,
  • Insured Off-Site Instructors welcome, by appointment.
